A Dance of Fire and Ice
Land of dragons
Spectacular bays, volcanoes and geysers, mighty waterfalls, glacier lagoons and free roaming wild horses. A journey into nature's acrobatics of fire and ice, in the place where dragons were born.
On a jeep tour in Iceland we set out on a journey made entirely of natural wonders: lava fields and craters, glaciers and lagoons, hot geothermal springs, black sand beaches, and if we are lucky, whales too.
Activities and Experiences
Let's dive into the plan
We land late in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and drive to the hotel to rest.
We pick up the jeeps and set out to discover the land of fire and ice. But first, take a moment: bathing in eight natural hot springs. We continue to the picturesque Hraunfossar lava falls and a walk through one of Iceland's most impressive lava caves.
Seal colonies, Snaefellsjokull National Park and a volcano crowned by an eternal glacier. Djupalonssandur beach studded with black stones, cliffs meeting the sea, and perhaps we will be lucky enough to see whales surfacing to breathe.
Thingvellir Park, the world's first parliament and a walk between continents, the erupting geyser and Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. And then: a 3 hour snowmobile ride on the Myrdalsjokull glacier!
Sailing the Westman Islands archipelago, which sits on the seam of two tectonic plates, a volcanically active region rich in birdlife, including Iceland's largest puffin colony.
Off-road driving through the highlands of Iceland, on what is considered the most beautiful road on the island, over the mountain spine to the colorful mountain reserve of Landmannalaugar, through streams and surreal landscapes.
Seljalandsfoss, which you can walk behind, and Skogafoss with its legendary treasure chest. The village of Vik, the Dyrholaey cliff and a black sand beach among the finest in Europe.
Skaftafell Park at the foot of the enormous Vatnajokull glacier, and then the crown jewel: the glacier lagoon, with white, blue and grey icebergs drifting in perfect calm. A zodiac cruise between the ice and the seals.
A 6 kilometer hike in Reykjadalur, the smoky valley, between hot springs, steam vents and bubbling mud, with a hot river at its center that you can bathe in. In the evening in Reykjavik, a simulated flight over the most beautiful places in Iceland, without leaving your seat.
The Reykjanes peninsula with its lunar landscape, and just before home, the Blue Lagoon: a turquoise geothermal pool and a pampering spa complex. In the afternoon we say goodbye to fascinating Iceland.
